Rem Koolhaas Lecture in USC at 6:00 PM Thursday, 1 March, 2007. 人很多, USC 臨時又開放 balcony 才得以容納所有排隊的人, 不過也晚了幾十分鐘開始.

基本上演講內容跟去年在 NeoCon West 的演講雷同, 甚至包含的案子更少也較不詳細. 我沒有後悔打瞌睡...

整晚最好玩的事要數, 一個在 Gensler 打工的 USC 學生問了一個爆笑的問題: 請問你願不願意來我們學校教我們? Koolhaas 的答案是非常堅決的"不". 理由是建築這行已經非常艱辛, 沒有必要教出更多的建築師來讓自己的執業環境更困難... (有去的人, 如果我聽錯了請糾正我)

Thom Mayne Lecture @ LACMA, Feb 2007

Thom Mayne gave a lecture in LACMA at 6:30 PM, Thursday, 22 Feb, 2007. I was lucky enough to get a ticket from my colleague that afternoon. Being late for 20 minutes, I missed the introduction by Eric Moss, which was okay... Thom divided his speech into 2 parts. In the first part, Thom listed 4 areas he has been interested in:
-Material
-Landscape
-Fragment (continuity of incompletion)
-Organization (collective form)

In the second part of Thom's lecture, several projects were introduced to explain how those 4 areas were realized.

年初一於大華九九巧遇廣東醒獅

18 Feb, 2007 至 San Gabriel 吃飯順便到大華九九買食品巧遇兩隻廣東醒獅, 配合喧天的鑼鼓聲, 感染了不少在這邊很少能享受到的過年氣氛. 雖然已經過了兩個禮拜, 還是貼出來分享一下. :P
